Bodily injury
pays for the injuries caused to someone
else by the policyholder.
The lowest bodily injury limit required by the state
of Illinois is $20,000 per person and $40,000 per
accident. Higher bodily injury limits are also
available.
Property damage pays for the damage caused to someone else's property by the policyholder. The property means anything that can be hit by a car, for example another vehicle or a lamp post on the street.
Uninsured motorist covers the injuries caused to the policyholder by uninsured driver.
Underinsured motorist covers the injuries caused to the policyholder by underinsured driver. The underinsured driver is the one with a lower bodily injury limits.
Medical payments pays for the injuries to the policyholder and his/her passengers.
Comprehensive covers theft, vandalism, and fire. It is a subject to a deductible.
Collision pays for the damage to policyholder's vehicle. It is a subject to a deductible.
Rental coverage applies when policyholder's vehicle is in a body shop as a result of an accident. Rental pays for the rented vehicle up to a limit per day for a number of days stated on the policy.
Towing pays for towing up to a limit stated on the policy.
